Oppo Reno 10X’s Zoom Capabilities May Be Better Than Huawei P30 Pro’s

So I’ve been using the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom for the past week and half, and this is my favorite phone right now. There are a few reasons I say this: I think the Reno has the best-designed backside of any phone right now, with its understated, minimalistic back plate that’s also not boring and mundane. I love the vertical strip that runs along the middle, the vertically-aligned logo, the triple camera lens that do not stick out.

But more importantly, I love the camera’s versatility. The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition can produce lossless optical 6X zoom, near-lossless 10X zoom, and even respectable 60X zoom. The latter tops even Huawei’s P30 Pro, which maxes out at 50X. I mean, there’s only so much I can explain with words — instead, look at the sample above and below.

What’s wild is that the Reno’s 60X zoom appears sharper than Huawei P30 Pro’s 50X zoom.

Did I mention that this phone has no notch, a super-fast in-display fingerprint reader, and the newest Snapdragon 855 chipset? Yeah, this phone ticks just about every box other than minor software quirks and the completely flat OLED panel (I prefer a bit of curves).

So Smooth

Anyway, I have a much more in-depth review in video format below, check it out if you’re interested. The Reno 10X Zoom Edition starts in Europe at 799 euro, and in Asia, it can be had for a bit cheaper, at around the US$650 range.

If you would prefer reading a full review, then we wrote one over at Forbes too.
